Colorado County Fair Conecessions

September 12, 13 ,14 rom 7am-10am

It's Fair time, and St. Paul Lutheran Youth and St. Paul Christian Learning Academy (CLA) will host the concession stand again this year. It has been such a great fundraiser for both of our organizations, and everyone has a good time! The Colorado County Fair is September 12, 13, & 14, 2024, and we will need volunteers for all three days from 7:00 AM-10:00 PM.

We will serve hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, baked potatoes, sausage wraps, breakfast tacos nachos, chips, soda, coffee, tea and lemonade. We will need volunteers to help work the concession stand (they are 3-hour shifts), cook hamburgers and breakfast tacos, and we are also asking for ice donations. If you have an ice maker and are willing to let us fill up a cooler, that is helpful.

Volunteer sign-up sheets will be in the narthex to sign up before or after worship, or you can email Stephanie (stephaniepolasek@yahoo.com) and let her know the time slot(s) you are able to help. Get a group together and come work the stand for a few hours, then go enjoy the fair! Each volunteer will receive a pass to enter for the day your are serving. This also counts for those iunior high and high school students looking for service hours. All proceeds will go to support the St. Paul Lutheran youth programs and the St. Paul CLA. Thank you for your help and support!

Starting Aug. 28th BLAST is our weekly children and youth Christian education classes. Children in preschool up to high school students are invited to come. Students must be registered online by visiting the link above. Curriculum Topics

Pre-K - Kindergarten

The students sing songs, learn simple prayers, do craft projects, learn the Lord’s Prayer and Bible stories.

Grades 1st – 3rd

The lessons are Bible based and include games and craft projects. The content level and retentive expectations are higher at this level. Students will also be taught the Apostle’s Creed and be exposed to the Sacraments of Baptism.

Grades 4th – 6th

The lessons are Bible based and help to foster the child’s relationship with God. Lessons will be child centered and student participation is encouraged. Students will be taught the Ten Commandments as part of their curriculum.

Confirmation (7th & 8th)

Students study scripture, Baptism, Communion and the teachings of Martin Luther. Confirmation will teach you how your faith can be active in your daily life. The goal of confirmation is that students develop a deeper more personal and honest idea about what they believe and who God is.

Senior High (9th - 12th)

In this class the students are to relate the Bible to their life. Impotant issues facing the students will be addressed. Students are encouraged to develop a relationship with God that will serve them no matter what they face in the world.
