Communion Instruction for 5th Graders

Sunday, October 18 from 12:30pm-2:30pm

Youth in the fifth grade are invited to attend the next milestone in their Christian education. Communion instruction is a formal teaching on the Sacraments of the Altar and will begin the process of getting students ready for confirmation ministry. Students will meet on Sunday, October 18th from 12:30pm-2:30pm in the lighthouse. Lunch will be served. Whether you are already taking communion or have waited for this class, all 5th graders are encouraged to attend. Parents are invited to attend with their child as well so they may continue the conversations and teaching at home. Please let Stephanie Polasek know if you plan to attend by October 15.

Trunk or Treat!

Sunday, October 25th at 11:30am

Kids are invited to wear their costume to church on Sunday, Oct. 26th to the 10am polka worship service. Following the service kids will be invited to stay in the sanctuary while our trunks get ready. St. Paul members and CLA team members will have their cars lined up in the church parking lot for kids to collect goodies.

Congregation members with trunks and treats WANTED!

If you would like to be a part of setting up your trunk and handing out treats to our children please sign up in the Narthex or contact Stephanie at 979-732-1858. You will have a parking spot with your name on it on that Sunday.

Decorated trunks & dressed up members are encouraged but not necessary to participate.

Fall Family Retreat @ Lutherhill

October 16-18, 2026

Need a little time set apart for rest & play? Retreat to the Hill for a fun-filled weekend. Make space to rest as you relax in a hammock, sneak in an afternoon nap or take in the epic Lutherhill sunset. Make space to play as you tackle the ropes course, take aim at the sling shot range or sing silly songs around the campfire. Make space to reconnect with the ones you love and our loving God.

Curriculum Topics

Pre-K - Kindergarten

The students sing songs, learn simple prayers, do craft projects, learn the Lord’s Prayer and Bible stories.

Grades 1st – 3rd

The lessons are Bible based and include games and craft projects. The content level and retentive expectations are higher at this level. Students will also be taught the Apostle’s Creed and be exposed to the Sacraments of Baptism.

Grades 4th – 6th

The lessons are Bible based and help to foster the child’s relationship with God. Lessons will be child centered and student participation is encouraged. Students will be taught the Ten Commandments as part of their curriculum.

Confirmation (7th & 8th)

Students study scripture, Baptism, Communion and the teachings of Martin Luther. Confirmation will teach you how your faith can be active in your daily life. The goal of confirmation is that students develop a deeper more personal and honest idea about what they believe and who God is.

Senior High (9th - 12th)

In this class the students are to relate the Bible to their life. Impotant issues facing the students will be addressed. Students are encouraged to develop a relationship with God that will serve them no matter what they face in the world.
