Gods Work. Our Hands

God's Work. Our Hands is being held Sunday, November 17, 2024. We will be working on a few projects around the community. After the 11:05 AM service, lunch will be served in the Lighthouse, and then we will disperse to begin doing God's work with our hands! If you are able, volunteers will be needed to fulfill these projects. Please sign up in the narthex (foyer). Projects will be, but not limited to:

-Flag pole restoration/flower bed at Little League field

-Window coverings at softball field concession stand

-Power wash concession stand

-Edging sidewalks along Hwy. 90 in front of the church

Inside the Lighthouse

-Snack bags for Boys and Girls Club

-Blessing Care Kits for homeless (Boxes will be placed in BLAST classrooms for students to donate items toward this project. A list of items are below. The winning class will receive an ice cream party!)

- toothbrushes

- toothpaste

- deodorant

- wipes

- fingernail clippers

- socks

- gloves

- small blankets to roll items in. These can be purchased at our Walmart.

Senior Explorers Day at Hwy 71 Ranch

Explorers of St. Paul will be exploring ranch life at the "Hwy. 71 Ranch". We will see exotics, like : zebras and axis, and some typical livestock like longhorns and miniature ponies. We will depart St. Paul at 9:00 AM for a FREE tour of the ranch! There will be a tractor-pulled wagon and golf carts for those unable to get in the wagon. After our tour we will head into Columbus for lunch at Lamberto's Bistro. We expect to be back at the church by 1:00 PM. Please sign up in the narthex by Sunday, November 10, 2024. "Feed my Sheep" - Fresh Produce Ministry

"Feed My Sheep" - Fresh Produce Ministry

We are working with The Common Market, which is a non-profit group that represents farmers who donate fresh produce and is distributed to different areas every two weeks. We are starting out by receiving 70 boxes of fresh produce to distribute, and then, as we see the need, it could go up from there. The produce will be delivered and distributed on Mondays.

Volunteers are needed to help with distribution, which will be 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Lighthouse. A sign-up sheet is located in the narthex if you are interested in

helping.

We continue to grow, and where we see the need, we meet the need. We are now serving 140 families every two weeks. Sign up in the narthex or call the church office to get involved in this exciting and beneficial ministry to our community. Please contact Kay Wesson (713-851-6282) if you have any questions.

Stephen Ministry Program for the St. Paul Lutheran Church and the community surrounding Columbus!

The existing Stephen Ministers and I will be re-organizing the team and are going to be recruiting additional caring people. Equip them with the Stephen Ministries Training that would give themselves the ability to go

one-on-one in confidence to listen, nurture and pray as a Care Givier, to be with those that need assistance, a Care Receiver, working with the guidance of the Cure Giver, God. There is still work being done to bring this forward. If you feel the call to this ministry to help, or in need of someone to walk in confidence beside you, or for someone you know, please contact me, George Bergfeld, Sr., Stephen Leader {214)-906-3359. Grief Support Group

The Grief Support Group is for anyone who has lost a loved one, either recently or a few years ago. We share and support each other. Come join us and get support from others walking this journey. We meet at 5:30 PM in the youth room (formerly the choir room) the third Thursday of the month. Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 19, 2024. NOTE: You do not have to share or talk until you are ready! If you have questions, please contact Peggy Geisler at

Bus and/or Van Drivers Needed

Hi, church family! Anyone interested in joining our Bus/Van Driving Team? You could help get people and families to worship service, to B.L.A.S.T or to the store. We hope to be transporting some families each Wednesday evening and Sunday mid-morning thru December. Only local short trips at this time, and only when it fits your schedule.
